|Michael Taylor’s list of credentials as one of the world’s leading gymnastics coaches includes USA Gymnastics National Safety Instructor and USAG Kinder Accreditation for Teacher’s Instructor. His gymnastics experience extends back to 1968 when he was a competitive athlete. He later went on to coach, judge, own a club, and direct recreational athletes and administrators. He is currently a Senior Recreation Supervisor for the Community Services Department of the City of Menlo Park, CA where he oversees 1,700 students.Taylor’s savvy doesn’t just stop at sports, as the owner of Gym.Net, he oversees this professional gymnastics network of educational, business, consulting, and Internet services that specializes in gymnastics-oriented businesses. Michael has provided expert witness testimony in numerous Gymnastics safety lawsuits.
Michael has presented seminars at the USAG National Congress on topics that include “Safety in the Gym for Class Instructors,” “Setting up your Preschool Gym Safely,” and “Partner Parents,” among others. Taylor is an active member of the United States Elite Coaches Association and publishes featured monthly articles in its newsletter. He is a regular clinician and presenter at the USAG Region 1 Congress and has presented workshops and seminars at the California Parks and Recreation Society Bay Area Institute. Some of his many published articles are in USAG Technique Magazine and USA Gymnast Magazine. He is a featured columnist on the USA Gymnastics Online website.
